Life is a Bumpy Road

I am an esteemed alumni of Austin College in Sherman Texas (Class of "none of your business"). I graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts as a History Major. Subsequently, I have worked in the human services field since graduation because there aren't too many jobs out there for history majors. Except for my short incarceration in Sherman, I have always lived in Austin, Texas. That's not totally true, I was born in England and lived there approximately 18 months, but for some strange reason I don't remember living there. I travel through out Texas for my job, every week. So beware Texans, I might be coming to a town near you!! I am happily married to a wonderful guy and have 0 (zero, zilch) children. (We just forgot to have them?) I find life amusing now (I used to find it extremely depressing but that's another story). So here's to Life, which after all can be a very bumpy road!

End of the Blog Vacation

I am back by popular demand. Ok the demand was from my husband who is probably my only reader, but I think he is a pretty compelling reason for me to start blogging again, so here I am. A lot has happened since I last blogged. I have had a million great experiences and a million not so great experiences, however I won't go into them here since, although I could de-identify the participants, they would know who they are if they wander upon this blog and I wouldn't want them to be offended by the way in which I might portray them. So suffice it to say, summer has been rocking along.

I am currently on vacation! Yes! But sadly I am supposed to be finishing a report for work. I know that sounds pathetic but sometimes you can't get away from work, no matter what you do. Oddly enough, I am much more creative when I am on a deadline for work. Suddenly I can write and organize all sorts of things that have nothing to do with what I am supposed to be working on. I think it's called "task avoidance".

Calling our week off "vacation" makes it sound like we are going somewhere exciting, when in fact we are just hanging around home doing nothing of any meaning. That's ok though. My husband and I rarely get to spend any length of time together since I travel so much. It's nice to just take a leisurely week to hang out and do nothing.

One thing that happened while I was not blogging was that Patrice got voted off Supernova. No big surprise! She is very good, but just not for that group. She was gracious about her exit, but deep down I think she wished she could have made it a little longer. I am impressed how long she did last considering she ended up in the bottom three a lot before she was booted off.

Ok. That's all there is for now. I must get on with the business of vacationing, but as for the "Blog Vacation"...I think that's over.

On a Vacation

I am taking a vacation from blogging as you could probably tell by how often I have written lately. I don't find it as gratifying as I did in the past. I may come back to it sooner or later, but for now, the vacation is open ended. Ta.
